Tower Ridge Vineyard is located in the Root River Valley region of southeastern Minnesota.  The area is comprised of bluffs and valleys, hardwood forests and river bottoms.  Agriculture dominates the region consisting of traditional crops such as corn, soy beans and alfalpha along with dairy and beef cattle, hogs and poultry.  The area is also home to many fruit orchards and a small but growing number of vineyards and wineries.

We have always been interested in wine/wine making and it has been a dream to one day grow our own grapes and eventually make our own wine.  We finally decided to try some test plots which we planted in early 2007.  The plan is to see which grapes varietals do well in which areas and to eventually turn two additional crop plots into vineyards.  The below is a list of the different vines we have planted and which trellis systems we are testing.
